Chilling horror at its best

I haven't been this scared since the 70s/80s when the kid floated up by the window in Salem's Lot and I mean that.
Yes there are a few questions blah blah who cares when something is THIS scary you just read it and enjoy ; something is terrorizing the world and no one except the people who die knows what it is because in this "new world" you have to blindfold yourself from whatever this "monster" may be.
Bookshopwom.com will delve into this more deeply but for now I want to say - the part where the guy was in the well unnerved me for 2 nights - I had the most delicious nightmares ... I LOOOOOVE being scared and this was excellent.
I hope this author ( a musician) does that at night and keeps writing during the day so that I can keep being terrified WRITE ANOTHER ONE SIR TERROR because I like what you got ! That's for sure .... best book I've read in a long long time.

An original page turner

Wow. Just wow. This is the first book I have read in years that I couldn't wait to find a free moment to continue turning the pages. I was hooked from page one ALL the way through to page 260, with no gaps in between. Bird Box is a breath of fresh air, original and well told. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, the characters, and the open ending that is left entirely up to the reader's imagination {as are the "creatures" that cause the problem in the first place}. No spoilers here folks, but this is a find worth trying. This is an honest-to-goodness fresh take on an apocalyptic scenario. It's a descriptive, well written, good, old fashioned story. No politics included.

What an amazing read. I really devoured this book! It is really creepy, chilling and, I have to say mind blowing. Its a really original concept, it keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Strange things are happening around the world. At first, far away, then closer to home, then at home. Malorie is unsure what to think about the strange news reports. And they are coming at a really bad time, she has just discovered she is pregnant. Then she cannot longer get her parents on the phone, she finds her sister dead. She knows she has to leave. Its a hell of a journey. She flees to another house, but when will she find safety? When can she find the courage to step out of the box?

I did overall enjoy this book

Hmm.
Well, first off, I did overall enjoy this book. It is pretty well written, super interesting, and definitely has unique thriller elements I haven't experienced elsewhere.
That said - there was a little TOO much left "open to interpretation". I honestly don't mind and often prefer when there are elements of a story left unexplained, however in this book it was to the point where I felt like maybe the author just didn't have those answers themselves. It came across as more laziness than intrigue.
That said, I really enjoy the freshness of this post apocolyptic idea, and I think it was well executed and hard to put down.

One of the best thriller books I've read

I love horror, thriller and mystery books and I've read a lot of them, from adult to teenage stories. This is honestly one of my favorite stories I've ever read and that is really saying something considering I am an avid reader. The story line is extremely unique and fresh, and it kept me interested the whole time to find out what was going to happen next. It was very suspenseful and gave me chills at times. I really enjoyed it.
