I bought this book for my daughter after she started questioning why her cousin only had a mommy. This does a great job talking about what makes a family and what all families have in common. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is it left out families made up of grandparents/grandkids. Overall though, a good read and easy for a toddler to understand.

This is such a cute book. It talks about all types of families in a matter of fact, positive light, including big families, small families, one parent families, same sex parent families, mixed families, adoptive families, etc. I love it and I'm so happy I purchased it for my 2 year old. The concept is simple but important. We are big fans of Todd Parr, and especially like that he uses random colors/animals for all the illustrations so the books are inherently diverse. I would highly recommend them.
