This got me through my Nursin 3 course (which is jam packed heavy with so much material). I give 5 stars because it helped me pass lol.
Just a side note, as with most text books not every little word/phrase is important. The book is very large and depending on your time schedule you really won't be able to read everything. Hone in on the most important information (nursing interventions ALL THE WAY).
Substitute memorization with understanding and you'll breeze through this book and your class!

I've used these for a year's worth of nursing school and they have helped me learn the content for sure. We've noticed that the ones who are doing well in classes have been reading this book as suggested by the teachers. It really fills in information that they can't get to in lecture even if they had more time.

I have the 2-volume paperback set. Great content. Great format. Med Surg is a huge field of study. So, to get as much "in"... this 2-volume set required a lot of work and decision-making. I think they pretty much nailed it. Yes...the brand new book is expensive. So maybe you can find an older edition. I lucked out and got this 2-volume set in near mint condition from Boomerang Books. But the book itself has been very useful in Med Surg. You could actually write term papers from this book and then supplement with outside research. Does it have everything? Of course not. But it has plenty to get me through Med Surg. I am a practical nursing student. I and my RN friend will not get rid of our copies of this book.
