This is a wonderfully written book

This is a wonderfully written book, it explains how people think and make decisions in life. I am a big fan of psychology currently I am researching how to combine technology with psychology to help people and this is a great start for me.
Awesome book on thinking, human behaviors and decision making.

It explains the two types of systems human beings have, and how System 1 (fast thinking) leads to common fallacies in human decision making process, and how we should diagnose and rectify. A great read on cognitive science and behavioral economics.
Interesting but do not buy Kindle version

Content is interesting, but as other reviewers point out, do not buy the Kindle version, because links often don't work, and many images and footnotes seem to be lost.
Not an easy read, you have to think, and that is what the book discusses.

An interesting thought pattern suggested by the author as how we perceive normal day to day activities, how thinking causes much more energy exertion than was imagined, and what can influence us without us directly realizing that we have been influenced. I was a psychology major in college, and as such, I can relate to the material and concepts based on previous studies. I am not sure that the average person will appreciate some of the concepts and find it not an easy read. I do think that it is worth the effort to read and understand, as it may shed light into some of the many things we do on a dialy basis, and are we making the decisions, or are we being influenced greatly without realizing it.
Great book, and the basis for a lot of new thinking in business and politics

Great Book. I thought this is one of the more useful and thought-provoking books I've read in a long time. I happened to read Superforecasting by Tetlock a few months after reading this book, and I was struck with how basically all of Superforecasting was a confirmation of what Kahneman talks about with System 2 (the slow, logical part of your brain). Not only can you avoid errors in your thinking, but by avoiding these errors and using System 2 you can actually improve your ability to forecast what is likely to happen in the future, at least the near term future.
Anyways, I think this book is the foundation for a lot of new thinking in business and politics recently, and I'm glad I've finally gotten around to reading it. I think it needs a catchier title though.
