This is a favorite book from my childhood. The pictures are delightful, the story is a heart melter (ok, I'm a big softie!), and most importantly it's frequently pulled off the shelf by my toddler, and has been since she was 18mo. It's one of the few books I don't get tired of reading because the story is lovely and there's little repetition in the text or pictures.
