Great intro to coaching kids and coaching track and field. Good basic understanding of all the events. I've coached at all levels, from Elementary to D1 NCAA and this is the best all around guide I've found for young track and field athletes.
The book goes through forming a team, practicing, some event specific drills, and going to meets. Doesn't get into a lot of detailed event particulars - but if you need that, then you're past the level of this book anyway.

Perfect reference and knowledge guide for working with youth runners, throwers, & jumpers as advertised. I transitioned from high school to middle school T&F and realized right off that I needed to retool and this was the perfect buy.
