I highly recommend this book. I home school my 13 year old son and this book is a great snap shot of the world timeline. It is not a training book that goes into great detail. Instead it covers just what it needs to cover so a child or anyone for that matter can have a foundation understanding of each event. I will say that it does follow suit like most books on history and in the most subtle ways over shadows and omits history in regards to black people contributions and which people and civilizations were black. Then again that is not the scope of this book hence why I still gave it 5 stars. A great teaching tool to be combined with videos on YouTube as well as research done on the parents part in regards to each event in history to give the child a completely balanced learning experience on all people, places and things written in the book. Excellent!

World History book is an excellent source for those that struggle with history concepts. As a world history teacher, students sometimes need support and understanding past events and how they connect to our modern situations. Though there are sections that are hit on lightly and only provide brief analysis, that is where the teacher must enhance the engagement. After all that is what we are meant to do. This is a good source as a foundational piece to build off of for further engagement. (The reviews that state slavery is not mentioned are incorrect for this book. Also, communism is mentioned as a definition and NOT glorified in ANY way. Again, in light of current events with Russia, the teacher/adult must provide the support. The book is a great tool!)

Good book for kids

Very concise, but everything is covered.I actually wrote a question page review to cover the book. Worked well.

We use this book for homeschooling our daughter who finds history boring. It works well for her.
