Excellent book for reference and study

This reference book is well thought out and easy to navigate.
I especially like the list of 55 essential verbs. These verbs are clearly flagged as they appear in the overall alphabetical verb listing. Each verb comes with sample sentences and idiomatic expressions built with the verb, even proverbs using the verb. You can learn a lot just by concentrating on these pages.
I find it easier to study verb conjugations in this book than on an online dictionary. There's no interference from pop-up ads.
And yet I do need the online dictionary, too. 501 verbs are only the basics. French is full of colorful expressive verbs that keep showing up in the books I try to read. And they're not all in this book.
I can't comment on the CD-ROM, because I'll probably never use it. It's the book that attracted me. I consult it every time I find myself devoting an hour or so to studying French. There's also a lot of helpful grammar relating to verbs.

Tap into verbs. They're the backbone of language.

This is a fantastically useful book. Just in the first few minutes of reading I learned more about the rules of conjugation than I have in the past year. I highly recommend that anyone who gets this book read the introduction before just using the book as a quick reference. I bought both the Kindle version and the physical copy a few months ago, so I always have it handy.
I bought the book at the suggestion of a Spanish language instructor. What he said made sense -- you can get by with just a few words in Spanish. You can point for nouns if you really need to. But verbs? You really can't do anything without verbs. They're the backbone of a language.

Highly recommended!!

This is turning out to be EXTREMELY useful for me as a reference for the correspondence that I have with French friends. Besides the essential verbs included--and they really exceed the 501 mentioned in the title--almost every individual verb section is crammed with idioms using that particular verb. There are hundreds of them and certainly make informal correspondence much more personal and modern.
This is a great tool!

Even my French teacher uses this great book in her classes as an aid to the students

This is one of the best books for learning French verbs. I've been speaking French since I was 10 but I still refer to this book at times. I also take an advanced French class just to keep current and everyone in our class uses this book and finds it to be quite helpful.. Even our teacher who is a French native advises the students to go out and buy this book. This is my 2nd edition because I wore the first one out from using it for so many years. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to perfect their French language skills.
1 of my top 3 for learning Spanish

This book is one of my top three learning-Spanish resources. It is truly a bargain for the price. You get 3 different resources to help you learn Spanish for the price of one.
The first resource is a 728-page reference book. The reference book lists the most common verbs in alphabetical order. One verb per page. With every verb full-conjugated in all of the different verb tenses. The reference book also has a section that lists many common sayings or expressions that you will hear Spanish-speakers say.
The second resource is a CD-Rom. The CD-Rom has lots of exercises "“ both text and audio "“ to help you master conjugating Spanish verbs.
The third resource is a 28 track audio CD disk that teaches every verb tense, including the Spanish subjunctive. There is an English speaker and a Spanish speaker on the disk explaining when to use the different verb conjugations. And they also explain in detail how to actually conjugate the verbs. This also happens to be my favorite of the three resources that are included with 501 Spanish Verbs.
I highly recommend that you buy this book. Not just because it is impossible to achieve fluency in Spanish without also learning how to conjugate Spanish verbs. But also because this book is such a tremendous bargain for the price.
Earlier I mentioned that 501 Spanish Verbs is one of my top three learning-Spanish products. Now I will share my other two.
1. Easy Spanish Phrase Book NEW EDITION: Over 700 Phrases for Everyday Use (Dover Language Guides Spanish). This is an economically priced, handy resource that easily fits into my back pocket. You can conveniently take it anywhere with you when vacationing in a Spanish speaking country in order to have more than 700 phrases in your Spanish-vocabulary arsenal. And unlike so many learning-Spanish books, there is also a section called "Computers and Technology" where you'll find Spanish vocabulary related to modern technology.
2. Learning Spanish Like Crazy Level 1 CDR - w/ Super Bonus Package - Learn Spanish & Speak Spanish - New & Improved for PC/Mac - Free Updates for 1 Yr This is my favorite audio Spanish program because the program focuses on everyday, Latin American Spanish. This is a new and improved version with new content and new native Spanish speakers, and I find it to be much better than the previous version. The program is geared toward the foreign-language learner who wants to eventually achieve fluency in Spanish instead of someone who just wants to learn a few travel phrases. Compared to the other programs that I have used, this one does the best job at teaching you how to develop an authentic sounding Latin American Spanish accent. The program also comes with a very impressive bonus package.
If you have any questions about 501 Spanish verbs, please post your questions below and I will do my best to answer your questions.
