Great historical fiction book and the audio book reader did a nice job. I like how the story starts in 1776.

Arrived in time stated. For a used book this was still in good condition. My daughter needed for school summer reading. Purchased used because the teacher wanted the students to annotate directly in the book. My daughter enjoyed the story. She stated slow plot at first but got better as she read more.

My 14 year old brother ordered this book for his summer reading, something he was strongly against so I promised to help and read the book with him. I instantly became addicted to the characters, the setting and the plot was quick moving. It helped my brother to spark in interest in american history and a secret liking to reading.

Great whole class read or read aloud for 5th grade. Our classes loved it and were fully engaged. The novel served to deepen their understanding of the Revolutionary War era as they connected with the characters.
Great book - great read.

This is a GREAT book. Very moving and touching, sad and educational. I learned a lot while getting deeply attached to Isabel and Ruth. Written well, and an easy read, I finished very quickly, hard to put down! I think everybody should read this book, but those in particular that are studying or are interested in women's, African American, revolutionary, or slave history.
