I'm still reading the book. So far so good.

I've been wanting to try wine making at home for many years, but whenever I look at the how-to books they are so complicated and detailed that I've been deterred every time and just stuck with my arts and crafts instead. This book changed my mind and I'm setting up space to start my first wine! When the cover of this book caught my eye, I said, "What the heck I'll check it out." The book is actually a very clear, easy read that includes wonderful wine quotes at the beginning of each chapter. It also gave a bit of history of wine making that was quite interesting. The chapter about making wine from fruit was my favorite, and the strawberry wine recipe the author included in that chapter will be the first wine from fruit that I'll try. The author covered quite a bit of information without making the hobby seem daunting, and included a good glossary of wine-making terminology. I recommend the book for people like me, who are beginners, or who are simply interested in getting an understandable overview of everything that wine making at home involves.

Parker Covington has unraveled the mysteries of making wine at home for me. The chapters are well organized and the book is written in easy-to understand language that makes the basics of every aspect of making wine at home seem doable. The glossary at the end of the book is also really helpful for understanding the language of wine-making, and I keep referring to it. This book has given me confidence to jump into this hobby and I've ordered my first kit.
