This is a lesson reading and learning basic music notation. The only reference to Molodica is in the title pages. No information on breathing, holding, or using the Melodia is covered. If you are knowledgeable in piano playing, you can utilize the songs. Otherwise this is useless. Don't waste your money on this if you are a beginner, and expecting helpful information on the Melodica..
Disappointingly light on music

This book was a little disappointing. The first 14 pages are the title page, table of contents, and some strange little Christmas drawings. There are then four pages of absolute beginner music instruction; what is a clef, what is a note, what is a rest, etc., followed by two blank pages. The last 23 pages are used for a strange and wasteful flip drawing. (Flip the pages to see Santa's sleigh move!) That leaves pages 21-45 for music. Yes, nearly two-thirds of the book is not music.

Now onto the music that is there. It has some fun tunes, and I enjoy them enough to keep the book. But it is a stretch to call these "arrangements" because not once is there any chord or harmony "” it is just the melody line for every song. I would be nice if there was some supporting harmony (beginners could ignore it).

Like I say, I'm keeping it, but it was a little disappointing.

What better way to annoy your family than playing carols on a melodica? This arraignments on this book are easy enough for a child to follow but they are fun. Every person in my house took turns to play one or two melodies at different times. I just left the melodica and book over the kitchen counter and people were tempted to try.
