The first thing you need to know is that this book is very short, in terms of actual writing and explanation. Press explains things simply and straightforwardly, which accounts for some of the brevity. After her discussion of inflammation and various illness to which it contributes, there are lists of foods that are great, not so great, and terrible for inflammation, and there are a number of very enticing recipes and a sample two-week program for an inflammation-reducing diet.
I found this book to be a good introduction, and it helped me a great deal by simply being extremely concise and easy to understand. However, that conciseness also forms the main drawback: There is just not much detail here about specific conditions or special circumstances. In keeping with the lack of emphasis on digging into the nitty-gritty, only a limited number of conditions related to inflammation are discussed, and there is limited mention of CFS/CFIDS/fibromyalgia/ME. It is unclear how someone who is very ill should implement her suggested diet or take on the fairly complex recipes (which generally call for many fresh ingredients). As a person who is myself quite ill, and low-income, I was curious about how to adapt the recipes to use fewer ingredients and to make preparation simpler. Experimentation will be my guide in this case.
Overall, I felt that this was a simpler, accessible book for someone who is just beginning to learn about inflammation diets, or who would like to gain access to Press' delicious array of recipes. Considering the brevity of the book, I would recommend buying the Kindle version to better match the money spent to what is received.

This book was very well researched and contained a lot of information on inflammation. I had no idea inflammation could cause so much damage. Really makes you think about the food choices you are putting into your body. Loved the meal plan and recipes too.

I personally have horrible joint and muscle pain. And I have been looking for more homeopathic ways to manage it without going to doctors and popping pills like candy. I decided to give the Inflammation Diet a try. And I am so happy I did. I found The Inflammation Diet:Complete Guide to Beating Pain and Inflammation with Over 50 Anti-Inflammatory Recipes. The book is filled with useful and advice and tips on what to eat and what to eat. And it has 50 mouthwatering recipes as well.
I am also happy I purchased this book because I am dieting as well, and the recipes fit right into my diet and meal plans. And the meals are tailor made for healthy eating. It is good to be able to eat good and have the added benefit of it helping with my pain.
