Just OK for me

I thought this book was alright. I think I just don't love the way the author writes. I felt like I wasn't as involved in the character's lives as I am in other books. However, there were some funny moments especially towards the end and it wasn't a bad book. For me though, this book wasn't as amazing as everyone else claimed.
The theme seems to be that if sex is great, of course the relationship will be great too

This is really, really, really light reading. There's nothing deep here, and some of the characters and situations are just plain silly. The theme seems to be that if sex is great, of course the relationship will be great too. I'd rather read more thoughtful chick lit, with better developed characters and plot lines. But if you want light escapist brain candy, this is fine.
7000 people gave this an almost 5-star rating?!?

I enjoy the romance genre, and bought this book based on the literally thousands of supposed positive reviews. This book has me questioning whether I can trust Amazon reviews for future book purchases. Please, if you want the divorcee/ER doc plot, buy Jennifer Cruisie's Anyone But You. If you want funny dialogue among a varied cast of characters, try something by Kristan Higgins. And PLEASE stop using gay characters only as a subplot to prop up a heteronormative narrative...it is demeaning to gay culture and is just wrong. Amazon, you are going to lose all credibility with your customers if you allow what must be some system of padding/buying of reviews...over 7,000 almost 5-star reviews for this book? I just find that literally unbelievable.
Laugh out Loud Fun

If you're looking for a book that will make you smile and on occasion laugh out loud, then this might be the book for you. The characters were real, quirky, a bit odd at times and downright fun. The storyline was interesting and the characters flaws and personality made me connect and kept the pages turning.
4 stars - I liked it

I chose to read this book after reading only the 1-star reviews, and I quite enjoyed it. That doesn't mean I didn't want smack Sadie upside her head at least 12 times, but I found myself continually laughing out loud, and when I put the book down, I looked forward to picking it up again. I enjoyed all of the characters except Dody, but I would have liked to learn more about Sadie's mother's backstory.
