Great for Reference & Here Are the Recipes

I know many reviewers praised the book for its instructions and information, yet didn't like many of the recipes. I was a little nervous to order because of that lack of enthusiasm but decided to buy it for the info (I'm new to the world of Instant Pot and pressure cooking). I definitely understand "to each their own" however, I haven't found many recipes I *wouldn't* make! Nearly all of them appeal to me in some way. Since I almost did not buy the book because of the bad reviews the recipes had, I thought I would list them here and then you can decide for yourself! Breakfast: Apple & Cinnamon Oatmeal, Savory Breakfast Porridge, Cinnamon-Raisin French Toast Bake, Soft-Boiled Eggs & Soldiers, Bacon & Egg Strata, Sausage & Cheese Frittata, Eggs in Purgatory with Eggplant; Vegetables: Steamed Artichokes with Dipping Sauce, Eggplant & Roasted Red Pepper Dip, Steamed Edamame with garlic, easy Egg Salad, Quick Zucchini Ratatouille, Charred Corn on the Cob, Corn Pudding, Sesame Bok Choy, Braised Cabbage, Sweet & Spicy Carrots, Beets with Goat Cheese, Spaghetti Squash with Parmesan & Pine Nuts, Root Vegetable Medley, Brown Butter Fingerling Potatoes, Horseradish Mashed Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes with Brown Sugar Topping; Beans and Grains: Chipotle Black Beans, Homemade Hummus, Chickpea Curry, No-Fry Refried Beans, Southern-Style Black-Eyed Peas, Lentils with Tomato and Pancetta, Creamy White Bean Dip, Super-Fast Red Beans and Rice, Mexican-Style Brown Rice, Brown Butter & Asparagus Risotto, Faster-than-Fast-Food Fried Rice, Quinoa Tabbouleh, Rustic Herb Stuffing, Whole-Wheat Creamy Mac & Cheese, Cheese Grits; Soups, Stews & Chilies: Vegan Black Bean Soup with Avocado Salsa, Fresh Tomato Soup, Creamy Cauliflower and Potato Soup, Thai-Style Corn Chowder, Creamy Broccoli & Leek Soup, One-Hour Matzo Ball Soup, Vietnamese Chicken Noodle Soup (Pho Ga), French Onion Soup, Butternut Squash & Sausage South with Crispy Sage, Sweet Potato, Sausage & Kale Soup, Lentil & Spinach Stew with Shrimp, Beef Stew with Mushrooms & Barley, Tuscan Chicken Stew, Lightning-Fast Veggie Chili, Chorizo Chili; Seafood & Poultry: Mussels with Shallots & White Wine, Crab Legs with Lemon & Garlic Butter Sauce, Low-Country Boil, Shrimp Scampi, Steamed Fish & Veggies, Green Chicken Enchiladas, Chicken Pot Pie, Greek-Style Chicken with Potatoes & Peas, Classic Chicken Wings, Chicken & Dumplings, Mushroom & Chicken Sausage Risotto, Quick Chicken Tikka Masala, Spiced Coconut Chicken & Rice, "Roasted" Chicken with Tomatoes & Mushrooms, Stuffed Turkey Breast, One-Pot Penne & Turkey Meatballs, Duck with Mushrooms & Onions; Beef, Lamb and Pork: Sunday Pot Roast, Barbecue Beef Brisket, One-Pot Past Bolognese, Five-Spice Boneless Beef Ribs, Corned Beef, Oxtail Ragu, Lamb Curry, Lamb & Feta Meatballs with Tomato & Olive Sauce, Baby Back Ribs, Pulled Pork, One-Pot Beans, Sausage & Greens, Teriyaki Pork Loin, Pork Fried Rice, Easy Hawaiian-Style Pork, German Sausages with Peppers & Onions; Dessert: Carrot Cake Rice Pudding, Molten Brownie Pudding, Little Pumpkin Puddings, Chocolate & Orange Bread Pudding, Key Lime Cheesecake, Peach and Blueberry Cobbler, Easy Apple Dumplings, White Wine-Poached Pears with Vanilla, Sea Salt Dulce de Leche; Stocks & Sauces: Homemade Chicken Stock, Vegetable Stock, Beef Bone Broth, Spicy Chicken Bone Broth, Homemade Ketchup, Sweet & Tangy Barbecue Sauce, Classic Marinara Sauce, Puttanesca Sauce, Broccoli Pesto, Onion Gravy, Mago-Apple Chutney, Cranberry Sauce, Cinnamon Applesauce, Orange & Lemon Marmalade, Triple-Berry Jam, Apple Butter
instant pot cookbook

I bought this cookbook this morning. It's 1:30 and I've just finished cooking the beef bolognese. I cooked the dish 5 mins as per directions (against my better judgement). I usually cook penne 20 mins in sauce. Recipe called for only 5 mins. Completely starchy, uncooked, hard pasta. Horrible. Added a cup of liquid and cooked another 5 mins in instant pot. We tried it. Penne is cooked al dente but no flavor in the sauce and bottom layer of dish is totally stuck and black as in burnt!! I usually use another pressure cooker recipe in this same instant pot I've used for over a year, that is very flavorful and completely cooked in 20 mins. I doubt the author tested this recipe. It's more like a formulaic recipe minus seasonings for flavor. I intend to get my money back. The book is only 3.00, but adding the cost of all the ruined ingredients, makes this book way too expensive to even try another recipe.
Yummy beef stew

Just started using my IP. Maybe a couple batches of quinoa which was so easy. Beef stew from this cookbook was my first meal. Easily then how I did it on the stove. Everything so tender which I've never had. Carrots and potatoes so soft. Instructions easy to follow regarding IP settings.

I was disappointed this cookbook did not include more photos. Then, I became further disappointed when I found out that the photos used are stock photos that aren't even of the recipe provided.

There are two cookbooks by different authors from different publishers with completely different recipes, both with the same stock photo.

What's the point of including a photo in a cookbook unless it is of the actual recipe?
