I will preface this review by noting that I used similar practice books to prepare for my general knowledge and subject area exams and passed on my first attempt. I have also been in the classroom for three years and have completed an educator preparation program prior to taking this test.
Using this certainly made me feel confident about taking the PET. I took the practice test in the back of the book prior to reading and scored 77%. After reading the book cover to cover and re-reading information about subjects that I did not fully understand on the practice test, I felt overly prepared.
When I sat for the ACTUAL test, I was mortified. The questions were written in a VERY different format and only about 30% of the content assessed was covered in this book.
There is currently a scoring delay, so I am unable to say whether or not I passed the test. If I did, however, it was due to common sense and teaching experience- not this book.
