Such a touching story of a loving friendship that grew between girlhood friends. As happens often, when boys came into the picture, the friendship was challenged and lost for a time. After betrayal came forgiveness and the girls became even closer, promises were made and kept even after the death of one of the girls.

This was a fabulous, fabulous novel. The characters, time period, descriptions held me captive. I just finished reaching book 3 in the trilogy, Counting Chimneys and I couldnt put it down. READ IT, READ them all.

This book was as good as the last book I read, When We Last Danced on the Pier, by this author. I can hardly wait to start reading the third book in the series. It was hard to put it down.

This book is a must read. It is a wonderful story of a loyal, caring, loving, and forgiving friendship. When I have difficulty forgiving someone, I'll think of the one character in this book as it was done in spite of the pain and heartache it took to do so. There are a lot of personalities portrayed in this book and all of them stay in the story and remain in the reader's memory long after the last page is turned. I loved this book and I'm on to the
second book in this series by Sandy Taylor.
