"Ebola" pulls no punches - this is an unvarnished look at the plausible factors that made the outbreak an epidemic, and nearly a pandemic. It reports what we know (not much), and what we do not yet know (quite a lot). This book provides a complete picture of viral biology, epidemiology, drug screening, and immunology. It delves into the politics of Ebola and public health policy. This area includes some real surprises, like the CDC director's testimony that there were no mutations in the virus. I found the insider's view fascinating, especially the revelation that the White House held a conference call to tell scientists what to tell the public, and then the CDC gave bad info about the mutations, as well. Anyone with high school biology can read the book and understand it. Everyone interested in what mistakes to avoid for the next outbreak should read this book. A pleasant read about a painful topic.
