Probably should not have given it that little love tap, but still

I have a Dewalt 745 that is supposed to be compatible with this product. I removed the splitter since it was not compatible, went to install the insert and it wouldn't go in. I expected to meet a little resistance, but one tap with the heel of my hand snugged it in enough where I had to flip the saw over to remove it with a hammer, thus breaking one of the corners of the insert. Probably should not have given it that little love tap, but still, it could'n't stand up to a little abuse.
Nice but not perfect as it comes.

Arrived ok. They now have cutout for the trunion rising striking the insert and raise it as balde is raised. But its too shallow; so one star off for fit. This has been noted time and again so you'd think they would get it right especially has this is not safe condition. Also the portable stand model need to be stored when saw is folded as no lock.
A must have for finer work.

I bought this for my Dewalt 7490. It was very, very tight on first fitting and when I went to tap it out to file it a bit, a piece delaminated and chipped off the bottom. I was able to glue it so it's fine. It did need some filing though for a snug but removable fit. I cut strips for small box building and I don't know why I went so long with out a zero clearance throat. I love using it so much I bought one for my miter saw.
I wish, however, they made it clear that you will need to retro fit a riving knife or provide instructions rather than relying on commenters. I did not want to weaken it by cutting an extra slot so I ordered the Micro jig splitter. Their products are way over priced but I love the Gripper so we'll see. Oh, the kerf in the throat is awesome for aligning your stock.

Insert Fits and Works as Described... Mostly!

This item arrived on time and was in good shipping condition. It fit my DeWalt DWE74911 mostly as described in the product literature. After placing it on the saw, I realized that the stock riving knife kept it from fitting properly. I did not see this in the product description when ordering and when I went back and reviewed the description, I still did not see it. After reading several reviews, it was abundantly clear that this insert does not work with the stock riving knife. The instructions accompanying the insert also made it clear. The instructions recommended an additional purchase to resolve the issue but that added more costs to get the insert to work. The reviews offered several suggestions on creating a kerf for the stock riving knife. I chose to follow one of those options rather than spend more money with microjig. I removed the stock insert and stock riving knife from my saw. I used the stock insert to mark a cutting line on the new insert. I then reinserted the stock insert to the saw and used the table's fence and a featherboard to make a partial cut on the new insert that would allow the use of the stock riving knife. I ended up making several thins cuts and checking the new insert for fit carefully with the stock riving knife reinserted. Once satisfied with the fit, I clamped a board over the insert and proceeded to cut the kerf for the blade, which ended up elongating the the cut for the riving knife. After reinstalling and fine tuning the fit of the new insert, I made several test crosscuts and rips. The stock riving knife worked well and I had no chip out on the test cuts. I would suggest improving the product description by making the point about which saws the stock riving knife doesn't initially work. I would have given 5 stars if the product description were more clear about the riving knife issue. I will probably order one or two more of these inserts for dado and bevel purposes.

Fit my Dewalt 7480 well, but the blade doesn't drop far enough for this to sit flush before the first cut is made. I plan to install a smaller blade in my tablesaw to make the first part of the cut and then the full size to finish it off. Would also be nice if it had tabs in the back like the stock dewalt insert.
