Did the trick on a roof job to help with ladder safety

Bought for roof job for my dad - he said they did the trick - decent value for the money - remember you will probably need 2 !!

Kind of odd they don't sell in pairs.... or at least when I purchased them...
Great idea, needs longer bolts.

I attached a pair of these to my 36 foot Werner ladder to accomplish some roof repairs. Solidly built, made moving the ladder up the roof much easer, but as somebody else mentioned, the included bolts are too short. Seems like an easy fix, the extra trip to the hardware store cost them a star.
Secure hooks with evil wheels

I am rating the Qualcraft Ladder Hook 4 stars and not 5 because of its excessive weight and I hate the small swiveling wheel. Other than those negatives I felt quite secure using a pair of the ladder hooks on half of an aluminum extension ladder to sit myself on a 45-degree roof. The weight of a non-aluminum ladder would not make for safe handling since you already have to be on another ladder or a scaffold just to reach the roof. I found undoing the hooked ladder from the roof ridge a bigger challenge than putting it up as the damn wheels had a tendency for wild swings to the left or right as I rolled the ladder downward. I tried to think of ways to lock the wheels' orientation but was not successful. I must say the hooks mount quickly and easily on my ladder. I would recommend ladder hooks made of a lighter material than steel with larger wheels aligned with the ladder's long dimension. Once you get it hooked in place I feel this ladder hook is a safe product to climb on.
Great product

There were 2 peaks on my house I couldn't reach, even with a long ladder. With these hooks, I was able to create a very stable base on my 12/12 pitch roof, using a long extension ladder. Then I built a small wooden platform that hooked over the rungs of the extension ladder which gave me a level place to stand. I was also able to place another ladder on this platform to reach the high peaks. It sounds dangerous, but it was very stable (I recommend using a safety harness ).
It saved me hundreds of dollars since I didn't have to hire a professional painter.
