I have never seen any stand hold up like this one
Curtis R. Franks•April 3, 2016
I'm writing this, waiting on my 2nd 2950 to arrive. I purchased my first one about 20 years ago for a Makita 10" sliding compound saw purchased at the same time. I was in construction at the time and used it nearly every day for the next 10 years. Occasionally 10 years after that for projects and I have to say, I have never seen any stand hold up like this one. There is a little surface rust now on the legs, but no big deal. If I wanted to make it new I'd just sand and paint. Not bad for 20 years! This 2nd stand is being purchased for a metal chop saw. The idea that the support for the rollers going clear to the ground makes this stand the ONLY choice. This stand is so sturdy, I OFTEN do not use the roller supports for cutting wood to speed set-up and it still works fine. You can do little things to help speed set-up like marking the square tube under the roller where level is with the saw surface. I did this initially and I'm still using the same marks. I fine tune depending on the work I'm doing, but that's not always necessary. I don't know what people are crying about with portability; To store or transport, the rollers need to be extended all the way up. There's your carry handle. I don't have a problem and understand especially given the weight it's not going to float around. If this is a problem for you, hire a lackey to pull it around for you so your nails don't get dirty or better yet, GET OUT OF CONSTRUCTION! You're not built for it. I also have the fence for the left, and on remodels when cutting down stud walls and such to match existing, this thing has saved me literally thousands of dollars over the years and got me off to my next job faster by like triple the time as opposed to measuring and marking each piece.
The Makita is still going strong too by the way, I keep the brushes changed and the power cord once as a little dry rot set in and it's still going strong! It's a great combination!

Ten stars if I could. This thing is more than impressive. Pro carpenter 30 plus years. Long term trim work. Both interior and exterior. I have it coupled with an Dewalt DW708. !2'' slide compound miter and the heavy duty 60'' support wing. Lots and lots of feet of MDF (ugh) 5 1/2 ''crown 3,000 maybe all told on job of over 16,000 ft trim. Exterior PVC trim maybe 4,000' Ick. Try using that on any other stand of horses and 2by material. Cooked lasagne noodles to cut accurately. Impossible. This thing is stable beyond belief. Yeah it takes time to set up but so what. It stays there for days. Tough to roll around, what do you expect with a 65 pound tool 3 feet off the ground. A small modification I made was to reverse the saw to stand attachment system. I set the mounting bolts upside down to ease the removal of the saw. The bolts stay above the table and I put the wing nuts on from the top. Easy to dismantle for removal from the job site or to carry to another level. The tool is incredible and unbreakable. I use the Bosch pop up stand too company tool but the thing takes far too much space up in a truck for transport. I also have the legendary Sawhelper Saw Stand that was taken off the market years ago. That may be even more perfectest. Light, stable, small when unused but totally impossible to find anywhere. Bought mine used two years ago for $200 from a cabinet maker. Can't understand why he sold the thing ever. Anyway whenever i see trim men using horses and plywood to do trim I want to loan them my two rigs or maybe hire myself out. They are an incredible productivity booster. Superb in all senses of the word.

My 1ST table came damaged in shipping. Amazon was grate with the return & had UPS pick up the damaged table at my home. Two days after the pick up , Amazon had a 2ND table at my home. I was home this time when it showed up & helped the UPS kid get it from the truck to the house. It also had a gaping hole in it at one of the box ends, it had me worried. I had the UPS guy wait until I opened it. The entry hole was into a hollow spot in the box, no damage this time. I guess 80lbs.is too much for 1 UPS person to handle. "UNDERSTANDABLE",but thats a shipping problem. Now to the Rousseau 2950 miter saw stand. It was everything I expected & then some. The quality of the construction in the fabrication of the stand is EXCEPTIONAL. When you fold down the table with a 60lbs. miter saw bolted to it, the nemadic tires make it so nice when you are draging it up & down steps. I will be buying other Rousseau products. There is another little bonous when the table is set up. Beside the Rousseau name, there is a sticker. CRAFTED WITH PRIDE IN THE USA . And they are not kidding around.
Company that stands behind their product!!!!

The stand as in other reviews stated is a little hard to move around. I too had the misfortune of dealing with repeatedly flat tires at my job but a few minutes of research online led me to a review here on amazon, and after a quick call to the company, they sent out a pair of new and improved tires with tubes, and we havent had problems since. Its rare that you find a company that stands behind their products, so I just wanted to take the time and convey my appreciation to them here. Thanks!!!

Dear editors: please add the following to the review of the HD2950 that i submitted just a couple of hours ago:
I called Rousseau's toll free number and they are sending me new wheels free of charge. Their customer service was friendly, prompt, and intelligent... perfect.
This brings the stand up to 4 or 4.5 stars in my opinion... to make it up to 5 they would need to make it easier to work with while folded up -- as another reviewer said, the attachments for the T-stands stick out a lot and there's no easy place to stow the T's themselves. But in actual use I love this stand and it's always worth the setup time to use it rather than going back to repetitive measured cutoffs with a skilsaw.
