These tools are designed to overcome the parallax issues common to normal rules.
They are not, in my opinion, sturdy enough to drop in a tool bucket.
However, the ability to make consistent and repeatably accurate measurements it liberating, especially if you are burdened with significant near sightedness, that results in a smaller visual image.

A precision measuring kit everyone should have!

Simply amazing! Set of tools every wood worker should have! Precision measurement and very easy to use, I use all three items all the time. I also love that each of these items are flexible and the corner ruler is great! I find that I use the measuring square the most, just be sure to check it for square after a few uses, if you are sliding the ruler back and forth on the metal bracket it can come out of square and will need to be squared back up. These measure down to 64th's so perfect precision instrument!
