I came from a long history of woodworking but at average I am not a table saw heavy user. For thirty years I have used several brands of saw blades in my table saw, mainly Bosch and Makita. I had used other brands also, including Irwin and DeWalt but all of them were in a lower league than Bosch and Makita...

After reading lots of good reviews I decided, finally, try that Freud Pro blade. OMG! This stuff is at a completely different class: I could give six stars to it if possible.

It was easy to install, but I had to adjust the riving knife of my table saw as this blade is thicker than the blade I had installed previously so it lost its alignment with the blade change. The cuts are smoother than anything else I had saw at my live, either for solid hard or softwoods, plywood, MDF or melamine laminated. I did not expected so smooth cuts. The humble 2.25 HP motor from my table saw was enough to drive that blade to cut 3 inch height hardwood with no apparent effort.

It is a myth that blade is quieter. It is so loud as my previous Makita blade generating almost 85 dB at the saw operator place.

I strongly recommend it. Great blade for both ripping and cross cuts for solid lumber plywood. Works great also for MDF and Melamine although I suggest a specific blade for these last materials (I have another Freud blade for them!).

This is the second one I've owned. The first one was bought in 2005 and only had to be replaced because my neighbor ran some wood through it that had sand and tiny pebbles embedded in it from sitting on the floor. Makes a very smooth cut when your fence is properly aligned and the saw is tuned up properly. I'd still run your boards across the jointer before glueing up a panel but that's just good practice anyway.

Nice blade. That coating that Freud puts on all their blades really does work. Even cutting pine you don't get any pitch buildup on the blade. I use it for general purpose cutting, but mostly ripping on a 3 hp Powermatic 66 table saw. Leaves a good, clean cut behind regardless of the type of wood. Minimal to no dressing of the cut afterwards if you plan to glue pieces together.

This blade is "da bomb" as the young folks say. I bought it for my new Grizzly G771Z Hybrid table saw and love it. I have ripped a bunch of board feet of red oak in the months since I bought it and I'm completely happy with it.

I went with a woodworkers suggestion to buy a Forrest general purpose blade 40 teeth I did. It was fine much better than the blade that came with the saw. the cost was 125.00. I sent the Forrest blade back to them to be re sharpened and by the time you pay them 26.00 plus return shipping and an additional 5.00 for them to do a test cut, sounds like to check there work, you may as well buy one of these. It cuts thru maple, walnut, cherry and beech like butter. by far the best combination blade. might have to try another Frued saw blade. Plus its made in Italy, not China.
