The trash man or someone in the neighborhood absconded with one of my lids. I got tired of pouring rainwater out of the can. This beats drilling holes in a perfectly good can.

Fits a "Brute" commercial 32gal can perfectly. It also fit an old Rubbermaid 32gal (brown) home can. I bought 2.

The lid(s) I received were different from the picture. There are two patterns shown for the various colors. The pictured one was flat (this is what I had). The one's I got are slightly domed with segmented ridges (the other picture). They are Rubbermaid branded. I guess they changed the design. It's a trash can lid (that fits), so who cares? I mean really, my cans are grey and brown, I bought the green lids because they were cheaper.

Finally! I have been searching for years to find a reliable garbage can. I consistently buy garbage cans that crack and break and I have to attach the ever-dreaded "GARBAGE" sign with Scotch tape to the thing, hoping the garbage men will see it and haul the piece of decrepit junk away, rather than continuing to throw it back into my yard. Not this time! This garbage can is the real deal (and, funny enough, after buying this one, what do I see at nearly every neighbor on my block's driveway the following garbage day? The exact same garbage can! I wonder if they too got fed up with the cans you find in the local department stores and bought this can from Amazon.) I was disappointed that it was only plastic, but it is incredibly durable plastic that holds up against all kinds of weather and no matter what weight you put into it. The one thing I can never figure out, though, is why they don't put little holes on the bottom to let the rain out. These cans are heavy enough as it is without the addition of rainwater, but I guess that would compromise their strength.

In our neighborhood, the trash company does not give us specific garbage and recycling containers - we can use whatever we want and they will pick it up. Most of our neighbors use open small bins for recycling, and during bad weather the small paper items end up blowing all up and down the street, so I really wanted to find a sturdy can with a lid that I could use for recycling. I looked around at a lot of listings here on Amazon and decided to go with this Rubbermaid garbage can in the bright blue color that is typical for recyclables. Unfortunately at the time they were out of the blue lid, so I got this green lid instead. The lid fits perfectly onto the 32 gallon can and makes a secure seal so that if the can were blown over by a strong wind, I can feel confident that my recycling items will not end up all over the neighborhood. I'll also mention that since I went with a garbage can that is not pre-labeled specifically for recycling, and the green color might be misunderstood, I felt that I needed to write something on the can to make sure the guys picking up the trash knew what was inside. I ended up getting this Pentel white paint marker and it did a great job of marking the surface of this Rubbermaid can.

I am a top Amazon reviewer and frequently receive discounts on items for the purpose of review, but this product is NOT one of those cases. I purchased this on my own at full price and simply wanted to share my experience for other customers.

Welp, I should have paid attention. This is only the lid of the 10 gallon container being sold. How foolish of me. Anyway, I ordered the tub for it and that fit together perfectly and I haven't had any issues. I store dog food in it, I haven't smelled any plastic or chemical odor.
