Very durable and really helps when carrying heavy buckets
Melissa Wingfield✓ Verified PurchaseFebruary 19, 2018
5+ stars if I could! I got these as a gift for someone, and he uses them almost every day for one thing or another. He said they work great and they make it so much easier on the hands when carrying a heavy bucket. I was told that every time he uses them, he'll come back to the house and say to his spouse how much he loves these "things" that I got for him. (I only know this because she tells me how much he likes them and always has a positive comment to say after using them).

They are very durable and haven't cracked or anything. Not sure what they are made of, but whatever it is, they hold up very well. For this person to make positive comments all the time as he does ... IMO it is definitely a thumbs up and 5+ stars.
Good for Certain Uses

I ordered two kinds of grips, and haven't used these yet, but it seems like they will come in handy at some point. For a five-gallon bucket with a wire handle, I would suggest trying the bright orange "Snappy Grip brand," as they seemed to be designed more for that purpose. The Bucket Boss black rubber grips have a larger opening, allowing one to carry something with a larger diameter, which could be handy in the future. Right now, I needed to replace the weathered plastic handles on some 5-gallon buckets, and like the Snappy Grip brand for this particular use.
Handles 5-gallon Buckets w/ Full Loads Like a Dream...when they stay on.

It's hard to knock a product that sells for less than $4 that is made of quality material that does what it's designed to do: it handles 5-gallon buckets w/ full loads like an absolute dream. Yet, this grip is flawed in that will invariably roll upside down and come free of the bucket handle.

This handle cover comes with one hole pre-manufactured into it. What I've done to modify it is oil down (to make a clean puncture) a 1/8" drill bit, superheat it (with vice-grips and a torch) and puncture three more holes at the corners of the bucket grip. I then slipped key rings through the grip's holes and finally secured them around the bucket's metal bail.

This serves the purpose of keeping my bucket grips from falling off and being left behind at project sites, as I've done so many times in the past. Otherwise, a cheap but high-value product can add up for you real quickly when you're losing them all the time. With the modification, the grip is absolutely perfect. It's better than any other I've purchased. It's just a shame that Bucket Boss doesn't make a simple modification to enhance their product to make it five-star worthy.
Bucket handle mod

I can tell this thing will be great when I put it to use; comfortable like a recliner for your hand while you carry heavy items in a bucket.

Only thing I'd change is putting a few more holes in it. I could tell it would fall off of the bucket handle I had, so I poked 3 holes with a toothpick (yes, toothpick) and used two zip ties to secure it tightly to my bucket handle. This thing is great and your hands will thank you.
Grips are comfortable but they need work

Adding 8-32 coupling nuts on each end of the grip locks the grip in place and pulls the seem closed. I even used crazy glue to secure the seem before tightening them up.

If they had supplied these parts with the handle (with the holes already drilled for the screws), everyone would have given these grips 5 stars (save for the fact they smell for a day or two). They could have supplied the nuts for pennies and not gone stainless steel, but finding these coupling nuts in this size anymore is difficult (unless you buy 1,000 at a time.)

You can buy the coupling nuts and screws at Lowe's. The nuts and screws are in the hardware section in the stainless steel drawers, but the coupling nuts cost $3 each and a pack of screws cost $2.

Admittedly, adding $8 to the cost of these grips plus the work to install them might be too much for most people but the grips last forever. I can comfortably lift 50 pounds of rocks without hurting my fingers.

You will need to drill and counter sink the holes. I found using 11/64 drill works best for the 8-32 screws.
