Of the dozens of Amazon purchases this year, this one was my favorite. I had an older metal can that was beginning to rust and came upon this option. The plastic containers just don't hold up as well, plus I loathe the locking mechanisms on the spout that you have to hold as you tilt. When I first looked at this model, the attached funnel look like a deal breaker ... let me say it is the BEST. First the can - solid! American made with handle firmly welded on. The opening has pull handle (hard plastic ... mine is yellow) that opens the can. Fingers on yellow, thumb on fixed red to release fuel. NOW ... the FUNNEL. I have a John Deere L118 tractor. The gas cap is under the seat and a pain to get to with the bagger on. But not with the Eagle red can w/funnel. I haven't spilled a drop of fuel with this new can. The amount of gas can easily be manipulated, from wide open to a single ounce. The funnel comes off by twisting (it is really a sleeve over the gas opening on the can) for refueling. There is a metal mesh lining that keeps debris out of the can. This will be the last gas can I ever buy!!

Definitely a well constructed metal gas can. It comes with the yellow spout detached. The yellow funnel is pretty much a necessity for these cans. You do have to be sure the yellow funnel is pushed all the way down so that the container can seal completely. I filled two of these gas cans up and set them in my garage and have not smelled any gas from the containers. I did have to remove the yellow funnel to fill the gas can, and I did have a couple minor issues when filling for the first time. I am a first time buyer of a gas can of this type, so these issues may be moot as I use the gas can more.

Excellent product! I knocked off 1 star due to the fact that you cannot fill it up while the funnel is on the can. Other than that it was a great purchase. I use it to store Ethanol free gas for my generator (hurricane season) in my backyard shed. It comes with a spark/flame arrestor screen that is integral to the opening and also has a self relieving safety valve on the spring loaded lid which prevents gas pressure buildup. Very sturdy construction.

I like the design and sturdiness of this gas can. Heavy duty spring is used to seal the lid on and I can see that coming in handy to release pressure if the can were left out in the sun. No problems with the included funnel, it attached easily and came off easily. No drips. I'll probably get two more.

I'd like to start by saying that I personally found this gas can very easy to use - the design is far superior to many of the plastic cans on the market today. The plastic cans have one key advantage however: they are not painted!

I purchased one of these cans about a month ago to replace the one I've been using for my lawn mower and filled it with out issue. Other than filling the tank of my lawnmower once every weekend It's not seen much in the way of work. I haven't even re-filled it yet! This past weekend when I went to fill my tank, I happened to notice (thankfully before I started pouring) that there were red paint flakes around the rubber gasket. Not sure why the manufacturer decided to paint the black rubber gasket, but now that paint is flaking off into the steel mesh filter (which is at least catching some of the larger ones). Unfortunately I've not been able to remove the filter, and so I had to pour through another filter to get those the red paint flakes out of the can.

I like the design and it's still usable, which is why I'm giving it two stars, but needing to poor everything through a filter is a pain, especially for a brand new can that I paid nearly $40 for! I'm going to try to contact the seller to see if they will replace this unit. Hopefully it's just paint over-spray (defective) and they replace it. I'll adjust my review accordingly depending on how that goes.
