Crayons Everywhere!

I opened my box from Amazon with 5 or 6 other item in the box and discovered what was rolling around and making a racket. All of the 64 crayons, no make that 128 since I bought 2 boxes, were rolling around! The box was colored real pretty! Thankfully the box didn't sit out all day in the hot sun or that would have been a whole other mess. Now I have the 128 crayons (or colors as I called them when I was a child) sitting in a box to sort out and put in their box. I wouldn't bother but one box was going somewhere else. We all know they end up in an old tin because the kids don't put them back where they belong. Y'all need to secure these boxes so they don't escape during shipping!
Crayola Crayons. For the Kid in ALL of us!

I am so excited I got my package of Crayola crayons today! Can we say 64 colors:)

After working with children 20 plus years, I realized that no matter what toys they had, arriving with a fresh pack of Crayola crayons and a coloring book in hand would always win them over. With smiley faces they would remain busy for hours.

Well now I figured it was my turn! So when I found this enormous box of Crayola crayons on Amazon for $5 it was a no-brainer. I went out and bought an artist's sketch pad as well as an adult coloring book (therapy for adults;)) and waited with bated breath. It's been years since I've seen a box of Crayola crayons, especially one with so many colors. So I did not know what to expect.

Well I certainly was not disappointed! 64 absolutely delicious colors with the coolest names like "˜tickle me pink'. They certainly didn't have names like that when I was a kid nor did they have a box with a built-in sharpener or instructions on how to make a flipbook! I used to love flip books. I also really like the layout of the box since all the crayons are very accessible. In addition, I think it's wonderful that Crayola decided to create a website to inspire all the budding Picasso's in us.
Still the best!

Several decades ago, my grammy, a seamstress, made me a red apron with individual skinny pockets for each one of my new "crowns." Now it's my turn. Gigi, that's me, doesn't sew, so Sarah, my granddaughter, just got the flip-top box of 64 crayons. It has a great sharpener, and the crayons either don't break as easily, or I was a bit rougher with them as a kid.
Another thing I appreciate now is the four separate boxes of varied crayons inside each large box, perfect for handing out at parties to individual kids. No more, "I need your red one," arguments!
The colors are still great. As a baby boomer, the first thing I looked for was burnt sienna, knowing there'd been a Boomer revolt when Crayola considered eliminating it. It's still there. I'm getting an adult coloring book tomorrow. Five generations later, they're still 'mauvelous!'
Who Doesn't Love Crayola Crayons.

Crayola Crayons have been a favorite of mine since I was a kid. The colors are brilliant and plentiful. I used them for my adult coloring books and love them. They are smoother than I remember as a kid. The sharpener on the box is very handy and the shavings are easily emptied from the bottom of the box so there are no messes.A very cool surprise is the Crayola website. There are tons of free projects that can be printed to keep the kids (or yourself) busy for hours.Crayola has made it easy to be creative whether you are young or old.
The original are still the best!

Periodically I buy "crayons" and sometimes I go for the cheap ones. Unlike those discount crayons from companies I'm not certain adhere to safety standards, the Crayola company ships beautifully homogenous waxy sticks that are always wrapped tight and straight. Little detail? Sure, but nothing is as irritating as using a crayon and having the outer sleeve fall off forcing you to tape it back on and dealing with a lit of celophane tape.

Also, having the sharpener on the back is a real bonus.

I checked out store prices on this 64-unit set and this came out over a buck less (and even better with the free Prime shipping!)
