Generic brands didn't work for me. I was just a little over a pack a day smoker for 15 years. This does itch at first once applied, which is normal, and works perfectly throughout the day. You should take this off about an hour or so before going to bed. If you sleep w the patch on, you will have vivid dreams and stir all night. I've been wearing these for the past two months and probably smoked 10 cigarettes total just due to not wearing the patch that particular day while out w friends (bars). LOVE this product!! Recently, I have been using Habitrol but decided to try this product. Personally, save your money and buy Habitrol. I have found this product to be about the same as Habitrol at about twice the price, I will be fair I have only tried 1 NicoDerm Patch but I noticed no difference. When I buy more it will be Habitrol.

Came in on time and advertised. I should be using these next week and can rate the quality. But I've always used this brand and it works.
If someone is new to patches, make sure the skin is clean. If I haven't just stepped out of the shower, I use alcohol to clean the skin oil off.
Also, during those moments that the urge is strong, scratch the patch and you will get a jolt to get you over the craving.
