Got these with an ancient Dell system, I believe 2001 and they lasted until 2016. They are relatively inexpensive, they're not audiophile, right, but I think they are underrated here. Decent for basic music needs, and I would occasionally play blues tracks off youtube to jam with on electric guitar and it was fine. In comparison, they absolutely destroy the cheaper but higher rated Amazon basic speakers, which were poor. I would not go looking for less than this price range. I eventually had some problems with the left speaker dropping out, but that was after 15 years.

I got 10 yrs ago with a Dell system. Still using them even though I obviously do not have the same computer. Amazing for the price. I am sticking with HK for my computer speakers / home theater. If their cheap speakers are this good, imagine how good $300-$400 systems are

I am a 73 yrs young lady and I am somewhat embarrassed to admit that it has taken me 9 months to install these speakers because of the "rat's nest" of cables and wires behind my computer desk and the fear I might do more harm than good trying to install them. I finally mustered up the courage yesterday and, after almost 3 hours, I managed to disconnect the old ones and install the "new" ones at the same time giving the area a good cleaning. It's only been one day, but the perfect sound and wonderful quality of dialog coming through these $30 "used and in good condition" speakers is superb; more than I expected. I will write another review in a couple of months.....
