This time the adhesive stayed secure to the oven and I just super glued the guard to the adhesive strip

Second time purchasing this. The adhesive stops working where it meets the guard after a few months each time. Due to grease and cleaner from the stove I suppose. The first time I just started to tuck it in the oven door. This time the adhesive stayed secure to the oven and I just super glued the guard to the adhesive strip. At least when I am ready to remove it from my oven I can just take the strip off of the oven even though it will be glued to the guard. Once the adhesive stop sticking to the oven I am sure I will have to go back to putting the guard sticking out of my oven door.
Does the trick!

I have bought this item 2 times. Once when my little ones where babies (for the back of the stove and front), finally taking off the front when they got older, and buying it again for the front when we had another baby. It's easy to put together and does the trick. Ours fits perfectly and it does the job of protecting little fingers from getting burned while I'm cooking. I recommend this product. Our range sits on an island so there's plenty of room to install this product.

I didn't use the double-sided sticker/adhesive. All I did was slide this between the oven door and the stove knobs. It serves the purpose of making sure my child doesn't turn the stove knobs or get close to the flame of the stove.

To the reviewers that worry their kid can defeat it: This item does NOT give you the ability to leave your kid and stove unattended together.
This product gives you the half to one second you need to grab your kid after he or she runs toward the stove.
It stuck perfectly fine as well. I've heated pans up near it over 600 degrees with no signs of problems. Mind you, I prepped the surface with denatured alcohol. Using dish soap can leave residue that weakens the adhesive.

The product design is great it is everything I need to keep my curious toddler safe, but the tape just doesn't hold the guard, every time I walk into the kitchen to see the guard handing off the edge off the tape, it's very annoying, I even got a different brand tape since the guard fell off after a weeks use!
