Sound bad but they're small so they'd be perfect for a college dorm. I wouldn't recommend them though.

Speakers sound clear, subwoofer does not. Very distorted bass, very flat without an equalizer but once you use an equalizer it makes the subwoofer sound like someone just pounding on a wall. The sub is small and easy to ignore while it's under your desk and the speakers are much the same but the sound quality just isn't what I was expecting. I will probably return these and spend a little extra money to get a better setup. They're cheap, don't expect amazing sound because you just won't get it from these, but if you absolutely need speakers and you're on a budget I'd recommend them, otherwise just shell out an extra 15 dollars for a logitech setup. They're cheap and the quality is much better than these. Deep bass seems to make the subwoofer commit suicide whereas with my old logitech speakers (which only cost me 48 dollars on Ebay a few years ago) seemed to have a perfect balance of treble and bass and using an equalizer you could do some minor tweaking before the sound became distorted. This subwoofer distorted the first time I even tried it but I spent a few days tweaking and trying to see what all I could do with them and the answer is: not much. Save your money and go for a logitech setup around the same price range or a little bit more and you'll be much better off.
Cyber Acoustics good deal for me.

The Cyber Acoustics 18W Peak Power is actually not bad they are better then the other speakers I have been buying for the same price I used to buy Shaper Image speaker and they were awful sounding. The real issue I had with these speaker was the smell coming out of the box it was so strong I hope I don;t get toxic poison from it *just kidding* but they do have a very strong smell. The price is what was good for me because I can;t afford Boise system so this will do for me. I must say the base on this subwoofer really makes the music sound deep to me anyway. Anyway I would advice to buy if you want some good sound.
Sub is more powerful than is practical for the small speakers

The tabletop speakers are a little weak, or maybe the subwoofer is too loud, but there's an imbalance when listening to music. Even on the lowest setting, the sub overpowers the small speakers and you get a lot of bass with not enough mid or treble. It's not so bad if you turn the volume down though. I'm using this speaker with my Echo Dot for music, so I was hoping it would fill the room with sound, but the high bass-to-everything-else ratio is less than desirable. But hey, it's was like $23 so I'm fine with it, if I wanted high quality speakers I would expect to pay more for them.
Great for the price

I bought these speakers to upgrade the woeful speakers on a tv we have in a bedroom. Since it's a bedroom tv we don't need anything too fancy mind you.
The sound is decent and sub does help a bit with lower frequencies. Granted, if it's turned up too high it gets boomy and will overpower the speakers, but just turn it down a bit and problem solved. It's barely a sub, but whatever.
Keeping expectations in check based on wattage and price, this is a good little speaker set if you just want a little bit better sound from a device that has crappy speakers.

Decent speakers, especially considering the price. Volume is somewhat lacking compared to other speakers I tested on the machine, and the bass is so-so. I bought these to put on my grandson's machine, so in some ways that could be a blessing! Music has a bit of a "echo" sound, but overall the speakers do a good job. I do like the remote, very easy for my grandson to operate and he can turn the volume up/down easily. I'd certainly recommend this to anyone looking for low-cost speakers for their system.
Came with everything needed to plug-and-play.
