I buy solid colors for wrapping, since they translate to multiple occasions. I bought this in black, and immediately ordered emerald after I received this roll. The paper is 4 ft wide and heavy, so keep that in mind if you are concerned with weight or storage room. There is a smooth side to the paper that appears slate gray rather than black. The textured side has a velvety feel almost like fabric. It's a deep, rich color. The paper is fairly heavy weight, creases cleanly, and holds sharp corners. It withstood a lot of wrapping, and gifts were stacked in a box until they were put out tonight.

Use packing tape or double sided adhesive as regular paper tape will not stick.

I can't speak to the quality of lighter colors, but dark colors are solid and not seethrough. No need to double up on paper layers, even though you'll have enough to wrap everything about 10 times over.

PS. My cat has been living in the tree for the past two weeks, and he hasn't managed to tear any packaging either.

This is a great black paper, a slight sheen on one side and flat black on the other side. Firm, holds up well, heavyweight. I ordered this paper for a wall art project. It'll be perfect.
This is a heavy paper, weighed 15 pounds and worth the extra $. IN the pictures above you can see how much you get for 200 feet of the black in comparison to the same 200 feet of white which was $6 less. The white weighed 6.7 pounds. I wish I could find the Pacon in white! :-(
If you're looking at buying large paper on a roll, check the shipping weight to see how thick of a paper you'll be getting. Most paper descriptions do not give the "pound" value to distinguish the thickness of the paper. I wish they would!

Bought this brown paper to cover up a mural for our wedding reception. We searched for an easy way to cover up this 7ft tall by 19' 2" wide mural and we didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a couple of hours so we found this idea. The brown paper is thick enough that you cannot see through it and there is enough of it to cover the whole thing and still have some left over. We just happen to be using brown as one of our wedding colors. This is well worth the price and we may have to use this on another area of the reception as well.

For our homecoming this year, we used the 48" x 200' to cover our gymnasium walls and bleachers. The paper did not rip at all while we were putting it up, was not sheer, very high quality, and was extremely sturdy. It is pictured in the background of this photo and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for lots of paper without breaking the bank!!
