this knife is perfect reason being it has a handle. most other carving knives do not have a grip handle to use .I almost cut a finger off with the non handle type because I got turkey grease on my hand and lost the grip .it slid over to my index finger of my other hand and almost cut it off this one works great and the price is right

We bought this knife because we wanted to be able to cut our homemade bread quickly and make even slices (hard to do with a standard knife). Unfortunately, the carving knife practically destroyed the bread (crumbs everywhere) and still doesn't cut the slices even. So we've kept this knife for carving the turkey come Thanksgiving but it was a definite disappointment for it's original intended purpose.
Works well for what it's supposed to do.

We wanted an electric knife which provides basic cutiing functionality. Nothing fancy, just easy cutting. We buy several dozen bagels at a time and slice them and then freeze them sliced. Works great for that. Easily cuts slim slices of tomatoes and does will with roasts. The blades fit deeply into the knife itself which provides additional stability. Exactly what we needed.
Was not new as advertised on original description at time of purchase...

I bought this item for my sister. She said when the box arrived, it was clearly a refurbished item. There were oily stains inside the box lid. There was no plastic cover over the knife. The cord was not coiled and lacked the twist tie that would show a factory-new item. The knife works and it fits her hand so she wants to keep it but when something is specified as new, I expect it to be new especially when the price charged is equivalent to a new knife.

Price was a factor in buying, but I wanted mostly for slicing bread machine bread. The bit at the end of the blades get hung up in my Presto slicing guide as the blades are too short; further, the switch is extremely temperamental and only works if you move your thumb around a lot. I'd return it, if the postage, packaging and trip to post office were worth it + trying to dig up original cash receipt! These people do NOT want return business! (They've been bought by Salton, so they use this brand for junk)
