You Get What You Pay For

Sound quality is largely subjective and is often described in the same way as wine tasting is described; nonsense. That being said, these are pretty low quality speakers. As far as I can tell, there is no crossover in place so those 1.5" speakers try to play low frequencies, they very noticeably distort at low volumes, with that distinct sound of muddy, slapping bass especially noticeable. The manufacturer does not specify the frequency range, but based on my own tests is seems to be somewhere in the ballpark of 90Hz-20kHz, making the subwoofer effectively useless. The distortion again may be less than noticeable for some, but per the manufacturer specifications, both the satellites and the woofer have a 10% THD rating, again, not great. All that in mind, they do sound pretty good at low volumes, and they are probably better than any other speaker at this price range, but I wouldn't recommend them if quality is a concern. My advice would be to pony up the extra $10 and get the JBL Jembe 2.0 setup, currently $30 through amazon. Those sound way better, even without a subwoofer.
these speakers power connector broke after only a few days of use!!!!!!!!!!!! want my money back!!!!!!!!!!!

i hate these speakers. they quit working after a few days. apparently they were bought used with amazon prime warehouse. i rather get my money back and use it buy a different model cyber accustic speakers. ones that don't have a woofer, but, have great sound. i should know since i used to have them and really was thinking of getting those again. but, i decided to go with the ones with the woofer. now i am paying the price and not a happy person. i hope to get a refund of some sort so i can get a different model speakers. apparently with the cyber acoustics ca-3001rb 3 piece subwoofer model the connector to power the speakers broke or stopped working after a few days of use. i don't know why, but, i really would like a refund to get a different pair of speakers. ones that don't include a subwoofer. i still committed to cyber acoustic products and probably will replace this item with something simliar to it without the subwoofer. my advice to all consumers on amazon. don't trust buying used items from the amazon warehouse. i could be wrong about this whole thing. i may have bought these speakers brand new, i am not sure now. but no matter if it was bought used or new don't matter. they don't work now and i feel like a refund is in order. and i defintely would request consumers on amazon to not trust cyber acoustic speakers if they come new or used. i used to be a big fan for cyber acoustic, and if i get enough of a refund or a full refund i mean. that i probably will buy a different model cyber acoustic speakers that don't include a subwoofer.
They sound good, and the first set lasted 5 years

This is my second purchase of these same speakers. I've had the first set for about 5 years, and finally, there's a connection problem where the right speaker sometimes doesn't work, sometimes does, so, after 5 years, I figure it's worth another purchase. They sound good, and the first set lasted 5 years, even through several moves and lots of abuse, plus playing lots of metal, Bach (and other baroque music), Grateful Dead, bluegrass, folk, techno, industrial, and about anything else you can imagine.
but they're probably good enough for someone who just listens to MP3s

Decent cheap speakers, but they're definitely cheap speakers. They're not going to be very satisfying to audiophiles, but they're probably good enough for someone who just listens to MP3s. Compared them to my Logitech Z320s, which do not have a subwoofer, and the Logitech speakers have superior sound. CyberAcoustics have a little more base, but the mid- and upper range is pretty muddy. Neither speaker is going to put out a lot of volume, although it will probably be enough for folks in the market for this level of speaker. If you want basic, cheap, small speakers, these are fine. For top acoustic quality, you should already know you have to spend a good deal more.
You get what you pay for...

I picked these up because they had good reviews and the price was pretty decent. While I didn't expect top-tier sound quality, I was at least hoping for something decent. These speakers are not it. For those of you looking for good sound quality at a low price, you'll be disappointed. I toyed with my equalizer on my computer while playing music from various genres for over an hour with no success. Especially on flat, it sounds extremely muffled.
The bass is muddy and overpowering. At default settings, you can barely hear anything else. You know how if someone drives by with their stereo blaring, but their windows up, you just hear that bass-y vibration? That's what these are like. The mids are all but erased by the overkill-level bass. I turned the bass down almost all the way, which helped with some music, but completely eliminated the bass in others. One size does NOT fit all, and I don't really want to adjust the EQ with each song that plays. But really, who does?
The mids are decent. Voices are relatively clear, but muffled a bit. Don't even think about turning the lower range of the mids up because then you get the exact same problem as the bass.
Treble is quite tinny. Not TOO bad on flat, but once you adjust the lows so the bass isn't killing everything else, then the tinny-ness really comes out.
All in all, I will be returning these speakers. The overpowering bass is what really ruins them. If there was a hardware dial on the subwoofer itself to turn down the bass, I bet these would be nice, but as they are, spend a few bucks extra and get a pair of Logitech speakers.
