I have purchased just about every color in this series of shoe as they have the best arch support and durability of any shoe I have. Many years ago I had back surgery and the doctor told me to purchase a good walking shoe. I have never regretted choosing this shoe. Even though I have a wide foot- the medium fits very well.

These shoes are comfy, practical, well made and versatile (great for walking/hiking outdoors, but not super clunky for just wearing around). They're a little warm. They're not particularly attractive, but then again, neither are hiking boots. Support and tread are great. Only complaint is that, like almost every garment I buy from Amazon, they were obviously tried on and returned. I already left seller feedback that the seller could have made a minimal effort to re-do the packaging and wipe the smudge off the right toe so it wouldn't be so OBVIOUS that someone put them on, wandered around the house for a few minutes, said "Ew. No." and threw them back in the box and sent them back. If they had been in pristine shape, this would be a 5-star review.

I don't like shoes, my feet don't like shoes, if I can at all get away with going barefoot I will but was going on a winter trip and we'll, shoes are required. I went shoe shopping and these (and one other Merrell pair) where the only shoes that fit, didn't hurt, and I have to admit I ended up loving. Right from the box, these fit, and needed little break in time, my feet never felt overly tight or restricted, or unbalanced. I would walk in these for hours without my feet tiring out after a few minutes as they aren't heavy. They are easy to slip on and off. I wear them with thicker socks (again winter) and they wear great. After months they still look brand new. I did scotch garden them before first wear.

As far as size goes? I wear size 9 women's and men's almost universally across-the-board in most athletic shoes. According to Merrell I am also a size 9. But in these I ordered a 10 and feel that was the right choice. Had I not been wearing the thicker socks I might have been okay with a 9.5 but never was a 9 going to fit. Just my experience.

I love these Merrell Mocs. I work in retail and am on my feet 8 hours a day so happy feet are a top priority for me. If you have a favorite insole (I use the Jambu Relax Foam insoles), its removable. So comfy. I just wish they still had the burgundy color available in my size. Cheers!

My current go-to walking shoes are Dansko ( ones with non skid soles) Fit Flop ( Super Skater) , Paul Green sneakers ( made in Austria) , Finn Comfort ( German made ). Somehow this Merrill's popped up when I was searching . Decided to give it a try. When it arrived I put it on and could hardly believe how comfy they feel! The sole is cushiony and gives a bit of height. The toe box is wide. Does not pinch toes or bunions at all. Can walk all day . Perfect shoe to take to Europe . Recommend without reservations
