Saved me hours of hammering for my latest roofing project. Occasionally I would get the double nail strike but I'm pretty sure that was because of my inexperience and not the hammer. Very happy with the purchase.

My hubby loves his new nail gun. This is the only brand he'll use with being a roofer for 20+years. He was very impressed with the price and his coworkers were a lil jealous that he got his so much cheaper than they got theirs.

I just finished working with my son-in-law to reroof his house, saving $6,000 in labor and profit (California prices!). I bought this nailer and also bought a Makita so we could both be nailing at the same time. Bostitch far outperformed the Makita, which double fired on a regular basis, jammed twice, and was heavier to boot. I am a big Makita fan and have lots of their tools, but in roofing nailers they don't have a competitive product.

I have test fired a roll of nails in preparation to reroofing my home. I fired thru shingles and 3/4 plywood matching my roof deck. took a few shots to adjust the pressure for the 1 3/4 inch nails to get the depth correct. The hardest thing is to learn to allow the tool to recoil from the deck properly to prevent double firing, but that is all in the learning process. After a roll of nails, I am ready to install a new roof when the weather allows.

Update.. My new roof is installed.. Installed over 12,000 nails with this gun with approximately a dozen misfires which were easily corrected. Safety first, remove air pressure before clearing a misfire.. Gripping the jammed nail with pliers and a firm shake released the nail and you are ready to go. I also installed an inline oiler to keep the gun properly lubricated.. The oiler held enough oil for about 4 hrs work before requiring refilling. Excellent tool..

We've only been using this for a short time, so can't comment on how well it'll hold up, but so far it's been working flawlessly. We've had to tap a few nails in that weren't quite flush, but that's to be expected. No complaints.
