This ranger belt is made of quality lealther and arrived as discribed but it has a design flaw in that the retainer loop is located where it lines up under the pants loop on all my jeans when the buckle is properly positioned. I have to move the belt loop to the left to clear my pants loop which causes the buckle to be oddly off center. I'm sorry.

Disappointing. Ordered a 36, what I received was a 39 or maybe at ;least a 38 even though the belt is marked 36 so I was on the the first hole with nothing left for adjustment. Quality OK, not great, but OK. Gave it to someone with a bigger belly than me.

Well made and very comfortable. I'm overweight and most belts are uncomfortable to wear. Not this belt. It is now my favorite belt and I am purchasing another one in black. It's a shame they don't offer this in black. Thanks
Nice belt, odd way to size them

I understand the size issue some people are having. Belts are measured by the middle hole from where the buckle attaches to the leather. All of my other belts are 38. 38 is the middle hole out of 7 holes. This belt is a 38 as well, except the very last hole, furthest from the buckle, is 38. It also only has 5 holes. If you bought a 38 and think you have room to lose a few pounds, wrong. You have plenty of room to gain a few pounds though! LOL! If you're really a 40 inch waist, then order the 38. That will put you in the middle hole with room to grow, or shrink. As to the quality of the belt, it seems to be good. It is stiff enough to CCW, plus two phones (work and personal). Unlike my other ranger belts, this is made from "solid" leather. It is not two thin pieces sewn together. Those always end up tearing under daily stress right at the buckle hole. I have high hopes that this belt will not do that! The part with the belt holes is sewn on with white thread. I"m wondering how long those threads will last. I gave it a 4 because of the weird way they do the sizes. Other than that, I really like the belt!
Update 3-12-17
The buckle is held on by two brass rivets that screw together through the leather. I did not realize they were not snaps or true rivets and lost one. I ordered a small package of the rivets from Amazon when my sister found the original in her bathroom. So beware and check the rivets every now and then! Other than that, I really like this belt!!
