This fan is working great. Connected it to a pressure switch and it push up to 50% more air to two bedrooms with a long duct running to them. You can here the fan running slightly but this is a great trade off for the lower temperature in these rooms during summer in the South.

Just replaced an identical unit that had been installed 8-10 years ago. After removing the old unit, found that the impeller had come off the motor shaft. So, the motor was running but not boosting the air flow. Since it was installed in a rental unit and only used in summer, I didn't notice the motor sound change when the impeller came off. There's only one moving part, so it would seem important (and simple) to engineer a reliable bond to the motor shaft. Will try to keep an eye (ear) on the new one.
Well-made product

Very well made, solid housing and mounting brackets. Has covered wiring box with 1/2" KO. Runs smooth, no louder than existing a/c blower. I used this fan to vent my garage space into the attic. Mounted the fan in a 6ft length of flexible 12" insulated duct (in the attic). Air is drawn over a fireproof grate separating attic from garage. The fan cycles on and off with the a/c via a relay. Works great, 800 cfm has enough volume without being noisy.
