I don't race my sailboat, but I found that my guesses at rigging tension were way off. Incorrect rigging tension can cause extra stress and shorten the life of the rigging. This gauge is so simple to use and inexpensive that everyone should have one.

Excellent Additions to My Tool Chest

I now own both the PT-1 and PT-2 for adjusting the standing rigging on my sailboat. For me, these instruments are indispensable in properly adjusting the stays fore and aft as well as port and starboard. With such adjustments the boat now handles exactly the way I want it to.
