I've seen a lot of pros and cons but I'm in the pro camp. I compared these to ones I bought in brick and mortar stores and they are the same. Some people complain about China, but that's also what the brick and mortar stores sell so it is the same. I think the making in China is a sign of the times but the quality appears just as good to me.

If you are hoping to add to your existing Spode Christmas collection - don't buy this. These plates are made in China, not England. The color is slightly off, the detail on the decoration is slightly fuzzy and the green rim is different from the ones made in England. Great price, not the same thing as the older china.

Nice set. The only thing I was disappointed with is that the dinner plates aren't "flat". They have like a "bowl" effect in the middle which makes it harder to serve some foods on them.

Agree with other reviewers that the quality is not quite as good as my other pieces that were made in England. However, I can't find those anymore, these are much cheaper, and unless you are closely inspecting the difference is not obvious. Overall pleased with this purchase.
