Possibly I received knock-offs, handles are hard, uncomfortable and not as sharp as cheaper Fiskars

Definitely not worth the $18.98 price I paid. I don't know if I got a knock-off or what, but 1) the handles hard and uncomfortable, and 2) the movement isn't smooth, so they just won't work for me for doing lots of collage cutting. Issue 3) is that the blades aren't as sharp as my little cheapie Fiskars.
I've had scissors that look just like these Chen's (it's why I bought them, I thought they'd be the same) and the handles were so easy on the hands, comfortable, opened and closed smoothly and the blades were scary sharp. I bought this pair with the intent to keep at home in my collage kit, and pack my older ones are for traveling classes. Not sure if I'll keep these or donate to adult art class, someone else may not have the same problems.
Bottom Line: I wouldn't buy these again, nor would I recommend them unless the price dropped significantly.

Joyce Chen makes a wonderful utility scissor. I've had several pairs through the years and I got these to have as a spare pair. I am hard on them as I use them to cut thin metal sheet (silver, copper, brass) in my jewelry work. They always work like champs and seem to stay sharp much longer than others I've tried. They are light, easy to handle, and fit my hand well (unlike aviation-type shears that are heavy and cumbersome to use). They really do the job.

I love these. A lot of the items I buy I use the for something completely different than what was intended. This one is no different. It is a great addition to my silversmiths toolbox. It cuts my solder wires and sterling silver like it was butter. Of course I am cutting a smaller gauge, but I use them over my wire cutters all of the time.

This is my second pair of Joyce Chen's. They are AMAZING! I'm a metalsmith @saltykissesjewelry and use these to cut through different gauges of sterling and fine silver wire, and sterling sheet. These cut like butter. I've been able to cut through up to 10 gauge wire!

I had heard from other metal smiths that these were great scissors for cutting metals. They are! Able to do cuts without serration marring like you get using Tin snips which saves me buffing time as well as giving me better precision. I'm spending much less time grinding and filing edges as well. I would highly recommend for this use age in a metalsmith's tool essentials.
