Disappointing. It is all mechanical and really doesn't work that well. It creates a dead spot for one of the locomotives. Would not recommend.

The crossing works well but unlike the description it doesn't lower as the train approaches. The gate mechanism is a pressure plate and lowers from the weight of the train on it. It also likes to bounce up and down as the cars pass over it. Still the detail is pretty good and it is functional.
