Avoid these cutters at all cost.

This thing is the worst cutters I have gotten. They track off about 1/16" each pass. Do not buy these cutters.
Quality and a good price.

A great replacement for my old cutter which could no longer cut a straight turn.
make sure it's a good tight fit to prevent 'walking' along the pipe

make sure it's a good tight fit to prevent 'walking' along the pipe. I used this for cutting copper and it worked well. Did not try it on black iron....
A tool that fits my needs

Not a pro plumber but I do change my wash basin faucets about once every ten years. When I do, most often, the 1 1/4" wash basin pipe needs to be replaced. This tool accommodated the 1 1/4" diameter easily (after all, it can handle 1 1/2" tubings). That was my primary requirement. I have tested the pipe cutter on a 1 1/4" plastic pipe. It worked. Very simple to use. That met my 2nd requirement. I noticed that the edge left on the plastic pipe was not perfectly smooth but good enough to use without filing it down. The 3rd requirement was safety. It does not use a scissoring action. Instead, it slowly cuts around the outer rim of the pipe. So, the third requirememt was met. Haven't tested it on metal but I have no doubt that it will do the job after seeing the manner in which it cuts. That means that I am happy with this tool and am all set to replace a wash basin when the time to do so comes. Oh yeah. There was a fourth requirement. The price is right.
