Grizzly Lathe/Mill G4015Z

I have been using this machine for 8 years and it has been worth every penny I paid for it. I have used it to create up to 112 threads per inch, and to mill dozens of aluminum enclosures for microwave electronics. I have used it to work with steel, aluminum, brass, copper, and even plastic. I have used it to machine very small connector components. It has some drawbacks, in having some slop, but it can be worked around. I had a motor failure which turned out to be the starting capacitor, and easy fix. I had a bearing failure in the upper drive belt tensioner, which was replaced with off-the-shelf components obtained locally. It currently has a slight leak in the seal on the lathe spindle, but not serious. I have used it extensively so I am not surprised at this leak. I have purchase replacement parts, but have yet to repair it. In summary, I am quite happy with it. Mike in Anchorage.

Just starting up for retirement, alway did maintainace, and
they woulnot let me in machineshop to see how they did it.
so at 53 yr."ima" learning. This little lathe combo is nice.
ONLY PROBLEM IS A HARD SPOT DURING CHUCK TIGHTING AND LOOSING, AND HOPEFULLY , IT WILL CLEAR UP WITH USE. MY SON OF 11 YEARS OF AGE , JUST FINISHED MAKING OUR OWN LATHE GRINDER ,
LIVE CENTER , AND NOW WORKING ON OUR OWN TAPER ATACHMENT.
