Nice anvil!

Husband loves this! Anvils are freakin' expensive and we didn't need a giant one, but we did need one big enough to function for common handyman type jobs and this fits the bill!

My husband love it!!
Think of it as a used hona civic, not a new corvette and you're good.

I spent a lot of time looking for a beginning anvil in order to start blacksmithing. As long as you understand that you are getting what you pay for here you should be alright.

I attached pictures showing the relative size compared to some other tools. Also shown is how dented up the face gets after just a little use. I do not have a welder or a good supply of plate tool steel (I get my steel as scrap from the junk yard) so I have not added a plate to the top get (if I ever do).

The hardy hole had some sharp burrs when it was new, leftover from machining the face. This was easily fixed with a couple passes of a file. I just wanted to mention it so you know what kind of attention to detail (yeah right) they are putting into it.

So it comes down to this: you know it isn't induction hardened, or even steel. It is soft cast iron. You know you can weld a tool steel plate to the top and make it significantly better for a small investment. And this was the most important thing for me, it is the only anvil you will find at even close to this price.

I would not buy this again, but I would recommend it to someone that wants to get their feet wet in blacksmithing without dropping more than $300 on just the anvil.

I'm gonna use it till it's worn out and then get something better.
