I live in a senior housing complex..air conditioners are in wall sleeves which are 17x 28 etc...last fall I purchased these as well as two other
brands which I returned. The price was affordable..they are also foldable so that fitting can be snug as desired. I used bungee cords and
duck tape to secure and air lock the covers. Did my neighbors and my unit...I just put last years' used covers on again...that is a lot to say
for the quality of the product. Almost as good as new...again common sense dictates the use of duck tape and bungee cords...we are also
having heavy winds presently and it is just October. Both my neighbor and myself felt the inside of our apartments were much warmer so
the covers are doing their job. Purchased more recently for neighbors...

While this isn't the exact dimensions of my AC, Frigidaire 15,100 BTU 115V Window-Mounted Median Air Conditioner, but it fits snugly enough. I only put it on to check the fit because I live in SoCal and it is the middle of the summer, but I wanted to make sure that it fit. (Make sure you tell people in your home if you put it on so no one tries to use the AC while it is on. My husband didn't know it was on and it tripped the breaker three times and caused quite a headache before he realized the cover was on. I had a private chuckle when I came home.) Yes this item is made like tarp material. Yes, the straps are not secure enough with no other tape or straps. Yes, the bottom is opened. Yes it is made big.
However, I knew this when I made the purchase. I had already planned to use bungee cords and garbage bag (for the bottom) during the winter months. I do not believe that it is wise to leave the cover on when operating/using the air conditioner, but I am not an expert.
I would recommend for anyone on a limited budget!
