Use this for THE BEST lunch ever! Crazy good!

This is a 10. I love it. There's another Frontier Soup Mix similar to this one--Southwest Tortilla Soup, I think. The only difference I noticed was that one called for salsa (red) to be added and the other called for green enchilada sauce. BOTH WERE OUT OF THIS WORLD CRAZY GOOD! If you want it to be a 10, do what I do: Make the soup as directed by adding water to it in a large pot on the stove. Add leftover cooked chicken (I like boneless skinless chicken breast). Turn the stove off. Stir in sour cream--they have it as an optional suggestion on the box, but do it! Buy some tortilla strips here on Amazon (Fresh Gourmet Tortilla Strips, Tri Colored, 1 Pound by Fresh Gourmet are great!--nice and fresh!). I put my soup in a large soup mug topped with shredded cheddar and mozzarella. Put the mug on a large plate. Add some lettuce and diced fresh tomatoes topped with sour cream and taco sauce (Heinz packets et al available on Amazon) on the "salad". Garnish the soup and "salad" with cilantro then with the tortilla strips--all over both soup and salad--and OMG you have yourself THE BEST lunch!
Actually lentil soup and you have to add your own onions.

Where do I start? This is a lentil soup mix. You have to add your own onions! It looked like onion soup mix that I could take on trips. I thought I could just add water and cook in a hot pot. Read the label. It is ridiculously expensive for the little package that does not make onion soup at all. I tried to request a refund but Amazon said no. Buyer beware. Just study the label and look at the size of the package before you decide.
Two Stars

You must prepare your own soup with your own ingredients, then put in this (basically) season packet, ridiculous!
My husband and I love soup and especially Tortilla soup

My husband and I love soup and especially Tortilla soup. I bought this dry mix after reading all the reviews and had high hopes that it would be a suitable replacement for the one we love at our favorite Mexican restaurant. I added chicken and served it with shredded cheese and sour cream to mix in. I have to say we were underwhelmed by the flavor, it seemed like a chili/ taco seasoning broth. I don't know about the texture either. Have never used a dehydrated mix, so maybe that threw us off. Overall, it was a miss and after forcing ourselves to eat it a second time, I just dumped the rest. I have a second package that will be donated to the local food bank. We live in Arizona and it sure didn't taste like any tortilla soup we've eaten around here. Others have loved it here in the reviews, so it's probably just not what we were looking for. I'll continue to make it from scratch and buy the Costco brand if I want to save time.
This is a high-quality and tasty soup - highly recommend! I am in a tiny apartment

Ordered these in preparation for Hurricane Irma. This is a high-quality and tasty soup - highly recommend! I am in a tiny apartment, but use a fondue pot and Sterno for storm and hurricane emergencies when the power is out. You will need chicken and butter, but since I had moved these perishable items from my freezer to my large cooler ahead of the storm, I was able to use up what I had and stay at home to make meals, etc.

The fondue pot is also great to heat water to make tea and coffee...during these kinds of storm conditions (and maybe a French press). My complex does not allow grills, bbq's etc.

Enjoyed this soup so much, I gave some as a xmas gift to my kids this year.
