I like to mount this higher up on the side of ...

I like to mount this higher up on the side of the helmet so it comes down more at a 45º angle, so only a slight bend in the wire center arm is all that's needed. I found the 90º bend as shown to be somewhat difficult to achieve and maintain. After I stuck the base to my helmet, I ran a bead of hot melt glue around the base, just in case. It's very convenient to rotate the mirror out of the way if needed, for example, when the sun is reflected into your eyes. Rotating it back again is also very easy.
Good mirror

Great mirror. I love that it's flexible and provides a surprisingly large field of rear vision. The one thing that makes it a good product is also my one negative. The mirror pops out of the extension arm very easily. I have to buy the kit (which is way over-priced) quite frequently because if you carry your helmet the mirror can pop off and you don't even know it. I actually bought the whole mirror assembly this time because the kit wasn't available. I'd have given it 5 stars if there was the ability to buy replacement mirrors separately.
Makes it easy to see approaching traffic

For years, I used a mirror that adhered to the inside of my helmet. My local bike shop did not have that particular model and recommended the Cycleaware Reflex mirror instead. It adheres better to to the outside of the helmet and offers multiple adjustment to get the mirror just right for maximum visibility and safety.
This worked great at first
Ernie BlifitzpickApril 7, 2017
This worked great at first. But the socket joint for the mirror quickly became loose, and the mirror falls out. So, for the first 30 miles on the bike, I was pretty happy with it. It fell out once, and I was able to find it. But it will fall out again soon, and like Tuesday, be gone with the wind. There are many things you can spend $22 on, this one of them. I don't recommend it. I hope when the mirror falls out on the side of the road, a squirrel will find it and be amused. I'm not.
Shorter arm, adjustable, much preferred over longer armed models
Shawn J. BurkeApril 7, 2017
I prefer this Cycleaware Reflex Bicycle Helmet Mirror shorter arm bicycle mirror. In contrast to a longer arm such as Life On Bicycle 360 Degree Adjustable Rearview Bicycle Helmet Mirror I find this to be more useful. While much closer to my eyes I prefer that. I found the flexibility of the arm to be sufficient to find a comfortable fit. With the mirror closer to my eye, personally, it's easier for me to see what is behind me accurately.
