Works with metal wheels

Such a cool toy that my 2 turning 3 year old loves. The bell is rung by a magnet that activates when the metal on the train's wheels runs past. All our various trains work with this feature, even the ikea ones that have very little meals on their wheel comparatively. Trains that have only plastic wheels, like plastic Thomas trains probably won't work.
The bell is perfect love that it just dings a nice soft sound ...

The bell is perfect love that it just dings a nice soft sound then quiet until train passes again not annoying at all. I wish there were more things similiar to this one like the rails went down automatically when the train gets near the crossings.

You can't miss when you buy Brio for your child. It encourages imagination and hours of fun without having to use batteries. A fantastic toy made with quality materials. We have passed our love of Brio on to our grandsons. It is a toy that they will have to save for their children. Lots of fun.

My son loves this! He is constantly playing with it, since we purchased it. It dings when the train cars go by, so it adds to his imaginary play. It links onto our originally purchased train set (Ikea) just fine.

Our grandson just had his 3rd birthday and his big present was a new train table. We thought that this bell signal would be a perfect addition to his new set. It was the same size as a small section of track, so it was an easy installation. Every time the train passes the signal the bell rings. He thought that was the coolest thing and so did the rest of us. Not loud enough to be annoying, but you can tell when someone is playing with the train table. I would buy again.
