I ordered another one of these gauges as the first one I had (for quite a few years) started to leak at the bottom. There was a seam there where the bottom piece was attached and it was slowly leaking, therefore no rain fall was measured. I really like this gauge, it is sturdy, reliable and looks good. I had to replace the plastic insert that would rise up with any rainfall, as it wore out and I'm holding on to this just in case.

The rain gauge is beautifully made and the pop up water gauge is a colorful addition to the copper sculpture. Lovely to look at and easy to insert into the ground. My husband is VERY happy with his gift as it's weather related, beautiful, and has a activity element of having to empty the blue cylinder. This is definitely a gift for those who are difficult to please.

We love this rain gauge! It took me forever to finally choose one and I'm glad this was it. Have had zero trouble with it and it's been outside in the snow! Luckily, it didn't break! If you're on the fence, I suggest you jump. You'll be glad you did.
