Superb tool for groove work
Thomas E. Koroch✓ Verified Purchase•June 25, 2017
I purposely waited until completing scraping/painting my house before writing this review. My house is about 80 years old and has grooved cedar shake siding. Owners in the past had used paint (as opposed to stain) and I've spent the last 30 years chasing down the flaky areas. I've tried several scraping tools and this one is perfect. It's point (it has 3 available) is the ideal size to fit the varying groove widths and the points stay sharper longer than anything else I've tried by a long shot. The flat edge works great for wider surfaces. Highly recommend for this type of job...kind of a game changer.

Bought to clean up stain on boat wood work. Most of the clear came off with a cheap scraper I had while waiting for this tool to be delivered.
Once got tool, couldn't wait to try it out!
Started scraping and thought, this darn tool doesn't work any better than my cheap putty knife!
Old man helping me says "try pulling it"
(Instead of pushing)
OMG!! LOL
Yep! Works great when you pull vs push!!
Works awesome!!!
I'm sure it may say it somewhere but I didn't see or read it lol

"Must Have" Scraping Tool for Boat Brightwork Maintenance!
Joseph Bruzda✓ Verified Purchase•June 8, 2016
I've previously had one of these and can tell you nothing matches it for speed or precision of varnish removal on the teak brightwork of a boat! I did an entire Hans Christian 38 topsides wit one of these and a couple of replacement blades. What I love is that with practice, you can literally remove 1/1000 inch of material at a time, preserving the wood but removing the finish. Light sanding and you're ready to apply new finish. The blades are carbide, so they are very sharp, very hard, but brittle. If you hit a screwhead for example, it will chip the edge of the blade. But, in less than a minute, you can rotate the triangle shape of the carbide and have a new edge. I endorse this tool 100%. One of the favorites in my arsenal!
Best scraper EVER!

Power washed my painted deck..got 80%-85%...took a Lowes flat scraper to get the places washer did not get...fair results, then a Rubbermaid pull-type scraper and it did ok..just for the heck of it I ordered this scraper...got it today and tried it out...UNBELIEVABLE RESULTS...it will get it ALL with minimal pressure...I am ordering another one just in case they stop making them...took it over to a friends house and showed them...they will order one tonight!! Never used one that even comes close to this one
Best scraper ever--seriously

Best scraper ever--seriously. We're sloughing off 100 years worth of paint off window trim, baseboard, and old doors. In some areas, there are 7 layers of paint and since some of it is lead, we can't use much easier methods of removal. We use two rounds of industrial paint remover, then use this Bahco scraper. Yes it clogs up, but since all the pieces can be disassembled, clean up isn't terrible (albeit tedious). Watch out though, this thing is so effective, it's really easy to pit the wood. Slow and steady pressure along with the use of the top knob really works well. I also have the smaller version, but I found it was just too easy to pit the wood, this one is much safer. We went through two less expensive ones that broke quite easily--I haven't had a blade break yet, even when I've accidently run it over a nail.
